High-Antioxidant Acai Berry
Crisp
Lots of deeply-hued berries and whole grains make
this classic dessert a healthy treat. It is high in antioxidants

6 Portions
½ cup. Acai berry juice (Monavie)
4 c. fresh or frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries
or strawberries)
¼ .c. sugar
1 T. lemon juice.
2 T. instant tapioca or cornstarch
Crumb Topping
3/4 c. whole wheat pastry flour
¾ cup old-fashioned oats
½ c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. ginger
¼ tsp. salt
¼ c. canola oil
• Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
• Combine the berries, ¼ cup of sugar, tapioca or cornstarch,
and lemon juice in a large bowl. Toss to blend. Transfer to a 9-inch
glass or crockery pie dish.
• Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, spices and salt in a medium
bowl. Add the oil and toss with a fork until you get small clumps
of well mixed ingredients. Sprinkle over the berries.
• Bake about 1 hour for frozen berries, 30-40 minutes for
fresh, or until the berries are thick and bubbly and the topping
is golden brown. Let stand for 10-15 minutes. Serve warm or room
temperature, topped with yogurt or ice cream.
